What are your thoughts about the message in this?
Messages such as this sometimes get us thinking about things from a different perspective, but how easy is that to do when you’re depressed?
At TMS Augusta depression is seen as a brain disease with perhaps many causes. One of these sometimes seems to be trying to do the impossible on behalf of someone else, while simultaneously failing to do the possible on behalf of oneself.
True perhaps, but clinical depression complicates these note card versions of life.
The brain disease of depression causes feelings of worthlessness, and hopelessness, and helplessness. So, it’s not enough to simply explain to a depressed person that maybe they should take better care of themselves. They probably already know it, at least to a degree. It’s worth reminding them to take better care of themselves, at least occasionally, maybe, but, it’s not enough.
The brain disease we call depression is a serious illness. No one has all the answers when it comes to understanding what causes it, or how to cure it, but we know there are treatments which achieve remission from depression in many people.
One of our goals at TMS Augusta is to stamp out depression worldwide beginning in our own backyard of Augusta, Georgia. Our high tech tool – Advanced TMS with the NeuroStar Therapy System – is a great help to us.
We treat depression in Augusta in a revolutionary way!
Once depression is successfully treated its victims – now free of hopelessness, helplessness, worthlessness, and rumination – have a much better chance at the perspective changes, and behavioral improvements we all need as we seek a more fulfilling life.
